What Parents Say About DML Montessori School in New Manila, Quezon City
Choosing a preschool is one of the first and most important decisions a parent makes for their child. It is not just a matter of proximity or schedule. Parents want to know: Will my child be safe here? Will the teachers truly care? Will this school reflect the values we hold at home?
For families in New Manila, Quezon City, many of those questions have been answered not by brochures, but by other parents.
Over the past several decades, the families of DML Montessori School of Quezon City have spoken quietly but consistently, passing the school’s name from neighbor to neighbor, from one generation to the next. Today, those voices are worth sharing.
“One of the Best Quality Montessori Schools in QC”
Nico Orallo, a parent of a DML student, described the school as one of the finest Montessori programs he had encountered in Quezon City and Metro Manila. What stood out to him was not just the quality of the curriculum, but the school’s commitment to preparing children for what comes next.
He noted the year-round activities as a particular strength, calling them well-executed in building both academic readiness and the kind of self-confidence that serves children long after preschool ends. He also highlighted DML’s math program as noteworthy.
For many parents, this is the quiet reassurance they are looking for: that their child’s early years will be spent somewhere thoughtful, not just convenient.
“3 of My Kids Studied in DML”
Perhaps no statement says more about a school than this one: a parent choosing to enroll not one child, but three.
Zyann Ambrosio Estaris shared that all three of her children passed through DML, and that her trust in the school was built on something deeper than personal experience. It was built on the word of her family. What her relatives told her, she said, turned out to be true: that a child who goes through DML is prepared to pass into any school they choose afterward.
This kind of recommendation, passed through families over years, is the foundation on which DML has grown since 1970. The school has never needed to sell itself loudly. The families who know it simply tell the families who are still looking.
“They Treated All of Us Like a Family”
John Allan Chan enrolled all of his children at DML. Looking back, he described a school that gave his children a solid academic foundation while also making the entire family feel genuinely welcomed.
He also mentioned something practical that many New Manila parents appreciate: ample security on campus, and enough parking for pick-up and drop-off, which he found very convenient for working parents. He noted, too, that the tuition fees are reasonable.
These details matter. For families balancing work, commutes, and the daily rhythm of school life, a school that is safe, accessible, and affordable is not a minor consideration. It is part of what makes DML a school families return to year after year.
“We Ended Up Staying”
Edrie Xenia Lavides-Oconer’s family came to DML with a plan: enroll their daughter for Nursery, then transfer her to another school for Pre-K and beyond. They did not follow that plan.
They stayed for Pre-K. They stayed for Kinder. The reason, she shared, was simple: they were happy with DML.
She described the Sisters as warm, approachable, and genuinely good with children. She mentioned that the school programs help children discover and develop their own talents and interests. She also shared that when the pandemic disrupted schooling, DML proved adaptable and supportive, easing her daughter’s eventual transition to Grade 1.
This is what a school’s character looks like when it is tested. Not by a perfect school year, but by an unexpected one.
“Our Child Grew from Timid to Thriving”
Dean Lee wrote about his family’s final year at DML before their child moved on to Grade 1. His message was addressed to the school as a heartfelt note of gratitude for what the years there had meant.
When they first came to DML, his child was shy, reluctant to join in activities like singing and dancing. Over the years, they watched that change. By the end, he described remarkable growth, not only in confidence but in academics.
He offered a reflection for parents who are still searching: that DML is a place where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive. That the Sisters and staff provide genuine warmth, not just good instruction.
These are the outcomes every parent hopes for on their child’s first day of school.
