DML Montessori Welcomes SY 2026-2027 with PTA General Assembly

DML Montessori School of Quezon City opened School Year 2026-2027 with its Parent-Teacher General Assembly, held last July 19, 2026, at the DML Mother Elisa Hall. Parents from every section gathered for a morning that began with the Holy Eucharist and closed with a shared meal, a fitting way to start a year rooted in faith and community.

The gathering carried this year’s theme, “Building a Solid Foundation: Guided by Faith, Inspired by Innovation, Centered on People.” In her welcome address, School Directress Sr. Deodata Y. Laurden shared that the theme “reminds us that every child’s future is built upon strong values, meaningful relationships, and quality education.” She continued, “Guided by our faith in God, inspired to embrace innovative ways of learning, and always placing people at the heart of everything we do, we strive to provide an environment where every child can flourish and reach their fullest potential.”

A Morning Centered on Faith and Family

The program began with registration and the Holy Eucharist, grounding the assembly in prayer before any business was taken up. This was followed by the National Anthem and welcome remarks, setting the tone for a morning meant to bring parents and teachers together as true partners in raising each child.

Passing the Torch

A highlight of the morning was the turn-over ceremony, as outgoing PTA President couple Mr. Iven and Anne Rachel Go shared their message and formally passed the leadership to the newly elected PTA President couple, Mr. David and Kaye Alabanza. The newly elected officers were inducted into their roles, followed by the presentation of this year’s PTA theme logo, a visual reminder of the values the school community hopes to carry through the year.

Games, Raffles, and Moments of Joy

Beyond the formalities, the assembly made room for fun and togetherness. Mrs. Desiree Pang presented the Class Spirit Points, celebrating the enthusiasm each section brought to the school year. Parents also took part in three sets of games and raffles held throughout the morning, with prizes given away between program segments, a lighthearted way of thanking families for their presence and support. In between the games, the PTA shared a look ahead at upcoming events and projects for the school year, giving parents a preview of what to look forward to as partners in the months ahead.

Building Together, One School Year at a Time

The assembly closed with remarks and a closing prayer, followed by lunch and fellowship, giving parents time to connect with one another and with the DML community they now call their own for another school year.

Assemblies like this remind us that DML Montessori School is more than a place of learning. It is a partnership between the school and every family who trusts us with their child’s early years. As we begin SY 2026-2027, we carry forward the same mission that has guided DML since 1970, to help each child grow in faith, in knowledge, and in character, together with the parents who walk this journey alongside us.
